Please note however that the fabric requires overlocking directly after being cut, as it unravels easily—an important step in the process of your creations.

Every metre of this hemp fabric is skillfully woven on semi-manual handlooms. These handlooms are powered and guided by experienced artisans. Slight variations in weave, texture, or thread tension can be expected and are indications of the handmade process. Each piece reflects the artisan's touch, and slight irregularities should be seen as a characteristic of a more traditional technique.

Our Process

Gaja Hemp offers a wholesale sourcing service, connecting designers and brands in the UK with Himalayan hemp fabrics, direct from source. Each order is made to order in Nepal, with production and shipping coordinated and overseen at source, before being delivered directly to your door in the UK.

Orders are collected and produced twice a year:

• Orders received by mid-August → Production during September & October

• Orders received by mid-February → Production during March & April

Minimum Orders

• 100m medium-weight fabric

• 50m thick fabric

Delivery

Once production begins, fabric typically takes around six weeks to arrive in the UK.

As fabrics are produced to order, availability can vary. We'll always confirm current availability and specifications before your order is finalised.

As part of our wholesale service, you're welcome to list your brand on the Gaja Hemp website to promote your work and connect with other designers using Himalayan hemp.
